Set on a crest overlooking the Harlem River, this new five-story building was designed within a very limited budget to house a prototype residential drug treatment program for people with HIV who are ambulatory. Single and double rooms cluster as three-room suites, each with a common lounge. Although not designed as a nursing home, the program incorporates many features of a health care facility, including nurse's stations and a medical suite with treatment rooms. Support facilities include a full cafeteria, meeting rooms and administrative offices. The cellar and fifth floors have direct access to outdoor terraces. web site and all content Copyright © 2006 GVZ Architects |
