The clients, a couple with two young children, wanted a large house, adequate for entertaining friends, clients and a large extended family. This 25 foot wide 1870's brick townhouse, formerly a 4-family residence, met their space needs. The building contained very few period details and no original moldings.

The building was gutted, making room for a new 3-story home and a ground floor rental. The parlor floor was re-constructed to include a new kitchen, dining room and parlor, adding moldings and trim in keeping with the period of the house. The large open kitchen has custom fabricated cherry wood cabinetry. The second floor houses the master bedroom suite, including his and her bathrooms and closets, a study and a small office. The top floor was given over to the children's bedrooms, common play area and a guest bedroom. There is multi-media access throughout the house.
