The clients, a professional couple with small children, purchased a large brownstone, with rental apartments on the upper floors and using the parlor and garden floors for themselves. Remnants of ornate period details were restored and additional moldings were installed to match.

The grand spaces of the parlor floor were used for living room, dining and kitchen, with a study/guest room in the rear addition. A new steel stair with balconies was added to the rear of the building to provide access to the large garden below. The more modest garden floor was dedicated to a large master suite and children's bedrooms with a common play area in the rear.
